Cobalt – Best Happy Hour
Cobalt Restaurant is located on the east side of Perdido Pass in Orange Beach. The location provides a great view of the pass, beautiful sunsets and boat access. Cobalt is also known for one of the best happy hours in town. It is also one of the best venues in Orange Beach for large parties. If you like oysters, tell your server you request that the chef shucks them. Use caution when approaching the docks due to the some of the strongest currents in the area
Brick & Spoon – Best Breakfast/Bloody Mary
Brick and Spoon is nationally recognized for their breakfast/brunch and locally recognized for the best Bloody Mary’s on the island. The Bloody Mary menu is a list of dozens of ingredients with check boxes next to each ingredient that you can incorporate into the drink. And yes, this list does include bacon. The coffee selection is also supreme. Brick and spoon is located on the north side of Canal Road a mile east of the Wharf and a mile west of Highway 161.
Cosmos – Best Sushi
Cosmos has some of the best sushi on the island. Their entire menu is great but come early because this restaurant stays packed. With inside and outside dining available, Cosmos has something for everyone on the menu. Don’t forget to try the daily specials.
Papa Rocco’s – Best Chicken Club Pizza
Papa Rocco’s is located on Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. This is a pizza dive with good live music. As ridiculous as it may sound, try the “Chicken Club Pizza.” Papa Rocco’s is located in the heart of Gulf Shores and is in walking distance of other entertainment, ice cream, shopping and fun for the whole family.
The Gulf – Best View and Mojito
The Gulf restaurant is a great place to hang out, have a beer and watch the boats come and go. It is located on the west side of Perdido Pass directly on the water. The property line is the pass and there is seating right next to the water. It might look like a few tractor trailers strapped together in a makeshift fashion, but the view is unbeatable and the atmosphere is clean and fun.
Flora Bama Oyster Bar and Yacht Club – Legendary
Flora-Bama Oyster Bar and Yacht Club are located on the Florida-Alabama state line. The Bama Burger and Royal Reds at the Oyster Bar some of the best in town. The view of the Gulf of Mexico while peeling shrimp and drinking an ice cold beverage is a unique and liberating experience. If you are looking for something a little more fancy, check out the yacht club on the north side of Perdido Beach Boulevard. The Yacht Club allows boat access to both locations from Ole River south of Ono Island.
Kitty’s Kafe – Best Home Cooking
Kitty’s Kafe is located across the entrance street from Target in Gulf Shores. This restaurant made the list as the best place to eat when going shopping on the Alabama Gulf Coast. It is in route to the Tanger Outlet Mall and in the heart of the main shopping center in Gulf Shores. Kitty’s specializes in down home southern cooking. Expect main course dishes like meat loaf or fried chicken with your choice of three vegetables. Kitty’s is open until 7:00 pm daily.
Lillians Pizza – Best Pizza in Perdido Key
Go hungry, leave stuffed. Lillian’s is located in Perdido Key, Florida and is one of, if not the most, legitimate pizzerias in the area. If you do not see something on the menu that interests you or you have certain dietary needs, simply request the pizza you want and they will make it for you. The salad bar is incredible, delivery and ordering service is friendly and the pizza is the best in the area.
Bahama Bob’s – Best Burger
Bahama Bob’s is located in Gulf Shores west of Highway 59 on Perdido Beach Boulevard on the beach side of the road. As a long time favorite of the area, the Island Burger has become a landmark in itself. The fried shrimp and gumbo are local favorites that will have you wanting to come back for more. The view of the gulf is awesome and food is great.
Wolf Bay Lodge – Best Fried Shrimp and Salad Bar
Wolf Bay Lodge is located at Zeke’s Landing Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama and also on County Road 20 in Foley. The Orange Beach location offers a view of the largest charter fleet on the gulf coast. Wolf Bay Lodge has been in business for nearly 70 years. The salad bar, burger and seafood platter are just some of the items on the menu that explain why Wolf Bay Lodge has been in business for so long. Family owned and operated, you can expect a large portion of good, southern cooked food. In the summer months, get there early; there will be a wait.
Island House – Best Breakfast View
Island House Hotel has the beast breakfast view on the beach and the best view, as well. Located in Orange Beach across the street from Zeke’s Landing Marina, the breakfast is a must at Island House.
Fisher’s – Best Fine Dining
Fisher’s is the epitome of fine dining in Orange Beach. Expect a white tablecloth experience, well presented cuisine, locally caught seafood and an exquisite wine list. The price is a direct reflection of the quality; both are very high. Fisher’s is located at Orange Beach Marina. After dining, feel free to walk the docks and look at some of the nicest sport fishing and cruising yachts on the gulf coast.
